Foil Bubble Wrap Basement Insulation
There is a small room in my basement that I’m getting ready to have finished. Most of my basement is closed cell foam (drywalled). But this one room has foil bubble wrap along the masonry, then 2×4 framing (no dry wall). I get that the foil is pretty useless but I don’t see a point in ripping it out. Namely because the space between the masonry and framing that will be left is so small.
Any thoughts on what I should do here before drywall? I could spray foam over the foil. Or just fill the stud cavity with mineral wool. Or is it actually best to rip the foil out?
Thanks,
Greg
