    They look like an interesting product. If you are looking for alternatives, there are a few other ways to make headers more efficient.

    Use a single-ply LVL.

    If it is a two story structure you can move them up to the rim joist where they can be more easily insulated.

    You can also use box beams, although some inspectors accept sizing tables and some require engineer's approval.
