Any thoughts on the old fashioned wall unit versus the new MLZ ceiling cassette from Mitsubishi?
CZ 3. Central Oklahoma. I’m starting the finish phase 2 of my home: the upstairs living quarters. Getting the HVAC consultation set up in the next week or two. I’m armed with an Energy Vanguard produced Manual J for the space but it was completed in October 2017… just before the “MLZ” one way cassette was available–so I’m curious about how it might substitute for the equipment I was recommended and was curious about thoughts of the GBA group/members. I’ll need the pump unit for each since I’m not able to drain down/out. I may reach out to EV for some “post-service” customer service just for some peace of mind.

I am very interested in this unit, particularly for my kitchen. I cook enough that I often wish I can spot cool my kitchen much more so than the rest of house (even in winter).
This might not be relevant in CZ 3, but as of right now, there is no hyper heat version in the 1:1 indoor:outdoor unit setups. If you need hyper heat right now, you need to go to a multi-split system. Hyper heat for this cassette in 1:1 systems is coming in the fall of 2019 (according to the Mitsubishi rep I spoke with at JLC Live in March of 2019).
Interesting....I will need hyperheat...and luckily have a multi-zone systemplanned. 4 or 5 heads...
