Above grade interior concrete block insulation

smtwenty | Posted in General Questions on

Soon I will be adding some 2×4 framing around the inside of an industrial building that was built with concrete blocks. I have designed my wall framing to allow for a 1/2″ gap between the block wall and my studs with the thought process of installing some rigid foam in this area.

I’m pretty sure I will be going with a 1/2″ EPS panel however I’m not sure if I should get it faced or unfaced. This building is in climate zone 5 and the interior space will be heated and cooled once complete. For the core of the insulation, I was planning to use a faced fiberglass batt within the walls.

To make sure I don’t have future moisture issues what type of facing should I have or not have on this EPS board?
