The team here at Enterprise Green Communities is really excited to announce that we are gearing up for a set of Green Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) workshops around the country this summer. We have been working hard with some of the Enterprise Green Communities Technical Assistance Providers to come up with a creative agenda and informative content. Here is the announcement HUD has released; be on the lookout for registration information on the HUD NSP Resource Exchange website.
Green NSP Workshops Coming Soon!
In this innovative series of workshops, NSP grantees and their partners (sub-recipients, contractors, architects and subcontractors) will obtain valuable information on adopting green measures. Strategies for developing green and healthy housing and tips for meeting NSP 2 and 3 green requirements will be shared. With a focus on peer-to-peer conversation and learning, these workshops will provide grantees and their partners the opportunity to build consensus among team members, seek guidance from industry leaders and increase the efficiency of their programs. Participants will gain the information they need to implement integrative design, smart growth and energy efficiency. They will also learn how to select materials beneficial to the environment, create healthy living environments and implement greener operations and maintenance in their building programs.
The workshops will be held in nine cities from June through August of 2011 including: Boston; Phoenix; Washington, DC; Portland, Ore.; Atlanta; Minneapolis; Cleveland; Los Angeles; and New Orleans. Stay tuned for more details.
