This episode of the BS* + Beer show features Canadian-proud building-science nerds Aaron Jones, Connor Malloy, and Shaun St.-Amour talking about their plans to launch a BS*+Beer, CANADA group and show, which will air the third Thursday of each month; May 18 is the inaugural show. The conviviality is contagious and there’s discussion around integrating building science into trades education, the value of building science symposiums, cold-climate design challenges, the importance of understanding the physics of building assemblies, and the market for cellulose insulation, among other things.
Aron Jones is a carpenter, builder, and teacher working on the island of Grand Manan. You’ve probably seen him teaching on Instagram at Big Dog or live at JLC. Connor Malloy is a building trades and design instructor at George Brown College in Toronto, and he runs the Wall Assembly Sweet 16 Student Competition. Shaun St. Amour is a builder in Vancouver and heavily involved in all things Passive House—from the Passive House Accelerator to the the Five Day Phorecast. Together, they cover the width of the great nation of Canada, spreading the good building science word.
Enjoy the show!
